Introducing VoixTalk

Cheap Mobile Long-Distance Calling

Make long distance calls to traditional phone numbers at ridiculously low rates. Also, while logged in, service users can call each other free wherever they are in the world.

Leveraging on a long experience with VOIP and traditional POTS telephony, Voix Networks proactively configured its PSTN switching platform with standard support and full integration for VOIP services.

This empowered Voix Networks to create a rare product – VoixTalk that offers the usage of fixed line numbers on mobile and fixed IP (Internet Protocol) phones. This product offers a unique opportunity that enables its subscribers to use Voix Networks numbering plan i.e. 234-09-220-XXXX on their mobile handsets and fixed IP phones anywhere in the world.

Due to the global availability of this product, it is very attractive to Africans living abroad for cheap calling with their friends and families back home, at very low call rates.  For example, for calls from the US to Nigeria rates can be as low as 0.03 cents per minute.  Organizations can also using this service to drastically reduce their telephone bills.

Typical Use Case

You are an African residing abroad, with most of your family and relatives in Nigeria, Ghana, etc.  You have a need to call home often, but the cheapest services around for GSM calling are too expensive.  So, you resort to using WhatsApp, Skype and other such VOI systems to call .. but the problem is that they are often over-subscribed for the amount of bandwidth available.

VoixTalk is a service that can be accessed using one of the publicly available SIP based clients on any mobile phone.  The following apps have been used successfully with our service, and we will be publishing working configurations for each app in due course.

  • Acrobits Groundwire (Android & Apple IOS)
  • Zoiper (Android & Apple IOS)
  • MicroSIP (Windows desktop)
  • We are also developing our own dedicated client app

Our VoixTalk service runs on VOIP to our switch, from where it goes into the traditional telephone system, thereby ensuring a very reliable call quality at very cheap rates.   Additional, users logged into the service via the SIP apps, can call each other 100% free.

Service is available and in use, but still under development

We will announce the service once the service has gone live.   In the mean time, if you are interested in being an early adopter, maybe as a trial, please contact us and we will give you some free credit to use.
